Internet-Women.net has been online since 1996 and has had many changes over the
years. I am now celebrating the beginning of the 13th year. One thing that hasn’t changed is the designer and owner.
I created Internet-Women.net as a simple, convenient place for me to shop at all my favorite shopping places on the web. The gateway to real joy is shopping in my pajamas! The joy of no crowds, no lines, oh my!
I also created it to sustain my life and make a living from my office at home.
It has been many years since I could do the daily grind of getting up and dressed and out the door to put my time and efforts into other peoples businesses and sadly even my own. I do miss it, but not a lot. I am 48 years old. Old being the operative word here. I was born @ Camp Lejeune, NC into a highly dysfunctional military family. Consequently, if you do not know, makes me quite dysfunctional brat now.
Beware you parents who do not know what your actions create and how they effect your children.
Spending all my youth within the bounds of rules and strict disciplines, then tossed to the wilds of the 'real' world beyond the gates has made me strong of character, practical of mind & kind at heart, however it also has given me a body that is now broken. I have a illnesses that make it impossible for me to "take a job" or "run a business" or be reliable daily to any potential "normal" means of employment. I have good days, and I have bad days, I just never know what kind of day it will be until its over.
Since 1995, when my health forced me to sell away dreams. I had to come up with a few new dreams that would allow me to use all my talents. I taught myself a few more skills to make this site. It is now my "job" and this is how I make a living. I do not make hordes of money, in fact, lately none at all. But that has been due to the lack of time and means to develop, manage & market IWN properly.
I've been online since 1993, I have watched it grow and change and even privately predicted many of the changes we see on the web today. I once told one of my early clients that one day there would be real time, personal interface between business and customers. I also told him that it would end up being the main means of peoples entertainment and social networking. Way back in 1996, I knew this would be the way. The Internet, a world unto itself. Has anyone ever thought that the theory of the "Big Bang" was actually based on the day we lost it all? The day someone pulled our plugs? Oh the panic that would set in. Surely people would be coming out of their dark, cramped computer corners to see what happened. Though, they would run right back in since the light would surely blind them.
It has been
over a year since I have updated this site because of lots of changes in my
life. We sold our Orlando home and moved to the country. Still in Florida, but
in the panhandle where we have been pioneering for the last year and just
this month had satellite installed. Back online! Yipeee!
We are a
long way from done building our new house. We started in November 2006 with raw
